Iphone SE 2020 Battery Health Dropped to 99% within 09 days

Hi, i bought an iphone SE 2020 couple of days ago and with in 09 days, my phone battery health dropped to 99%. Phone is being used moderately without gaming with IOS 15.3.1 . Is this something to worry about.

I would not worry, some start on 99% anyway.

You can expect it to drop 1% every 6 weeks with moderate use but if it does drop to 80% inside 1 year then Apple should replace the battery free.

Have them change it at 80%

There's not much you can do about it other than monitor it. There is a standard for replacement within the warranty period, but progress towards the target of 80% after 500 charge-discharge cycles is not guaranteed to be on any specific schedule.


What you have is similar to a tire mileage warranty. The only means to make a warranty claim is when it gets down to the wear bars within a certain mileage and before their warranty period is over. With Apple it's only once it's under 80% or if the battery suffers a premature failure.
