problems with iPhone last few weeks, periodically can't open servers or safari

Increasingly a problem, so far, lucky it hasn't happened when I really need to find something or using a road map program

yesterday, all afternoon and at night into this morning, web pages won't open including weather

looks like there is an update but, began saying "83 hours remaining"

at 2 am, down to 14 hours... problem is, that takes me to 4:00 in the afternoon

back to the dinosaur days of mobile phone service?

I have at&t in the Los Angeles harbor gateway area, we are not shown to have any service outages in the area... looking at the severely extended update download time, I have to wonder if this is an "i" problem?

it isn't working for me

iPhone 8, iOS 15

""I suspect it's not an "I" problem but rather a "u" problem. ""

meaning "I" am not as smart as "U"?

I tried some of those, and spent an hour on the phone with att, who say both there is and there is not a network issue

I would be interesting in knowing what putting in it airplane mode does and what it might reveal

and, the network walked me through resetting "network settings" to no effect

but, I will hope for a response from someone who actually is able to help

No, meaning it's not a problem with all iPhones, but one specific to yours.

Putting the phone in Airplane mode disconnects it from the cellular network. Sometimes, if you do that, when you turn off airplane mode and the phone reconnects to the network, it works again. It acts as a sort of reset.

the difference between you and your

the issue is "u" "you"

the issue is in your phone

two hours with att, a friend just told me she jest read att was taking down their 3G networks and "it might effect some data and/or phone numbers"

the information age...

thanks again, I will remember to add "airplane mode" and look up how to reset network settings, and keep the notes with me

My connection had been excellent, a hilly area between Los angeles and the harbor, in spite of that (an area with some significant dead zones, hills, steep hillsides)

I usually had three bars

lately, one or two and two used to be sufficient for a good connection

have seen only one bar when I had trouble with a connection..

Interesting... so, G3 maybe not the issue

a different story from each tech...
