Access to a cloud wifi

I recently changed my 8 plus for a 13 pro max and I now can’t connect to one of the cloud Wi-Fi networks that I have used for years, “Sky cloud”. It keeps saying unsecure connection. I never had this problem with the 8 plus, but don’t know if it’s the 13 pro max that’s blocking the connection or the latest iOS update. I have had the network rebooted, deleted the wifi network from my phone but it hasn’t solved the problem. Unfortunately I no longer have my old 8 plus to test it against. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If your iPhone shows a WiFi symbol at the top right, that means that it has a WiFi connection. But that connection does not appear to be passing data to the internet. The WiFi provider might not recognize your new device. You may need to register it as a new device with them.

Have you tried opening Safari and trying to access anything? Most WiFi providers like this will redirect you to a login page.

You'll get more specific information by contacting the provider directly.

If they are authenticating your device by MAC address, you might need to turn off Private Wi-Fi Address in the WiFi settings for that connection.

You need to ask them why they won’t let you access the internet through their Wi-Fi hotspot.

They must have a reason.

This is not an Apple and/or iPhone problem.

Because you use Sky cloud free Wi-Fi hotspot, you need to ask them for a password.

I have tried most of the suggestions in the links, but it still says “Unsecured network” in the wifi settings screen. I connected an old android device to the cloud Wi-Fi without any trouble at all. It’s very frustrating having paid over £1000 for a device that I can’t use the wifi in one particular venue, I am having to use a lot of data from my allowance just to use the basic internet.

Any WiFi connection that does not require a password is not encrypted and therefore not secure. Your iPhone is displaying "unsecured network" to inform you that any other device connected to that WiFi network can see what you're doing. But it does not prevent you from using it.

Any idea what could be preventing me from accessing the internet then? It worked fine on my old 8 plus but the next day, as soon as I changed to the 13 pro max and downloaded the latest iOS, I couldn’t access it.

They can’t understand it either. The manager tried to access the internet on my device but he failed too. It looks as if I will have to use a reliable old £75 android device to access the internet and leave my new 13 pro max at home! Not happy!!
