Approving child's app download without an apple device

I recently purchased an ipad air for my 11 year old daughter. We have parental approval turned on, and I don't receive any notifications when she requests to download an app. I think this is because I have an Android phone (and windows computer). Surely there must be a way for me to approve app downloads/purchases remotely without an iphone? I could also approve on the ipad itself but (a) it's super cumbersome, (b) I am not always available to do that, and (c) if my daughter tries to download an app multiple times that option seems to disappear.

I am not willing to remove parental requests for downloads and purchases- I learned the hard way that's a bad idea.

What to do?

Hi Mokey4,

Thank you for using the Apple Support Communities! We understand you'd like to know how you can approve app purchases on your daughter's new iPad while you do not use an Apple product.

It sounds like you are aware of using Screen Time controls on the device to have that requirement for approval from the device itself: Use parental controls on your child's iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. Those options discussed in that article are currently the best options to have more parental control over the device itself.

The option to Approve what kids buy with Ask to Buy does require you have Family Sharing set up and have an Apple product to manage Family Sharing.

Feel free to leave feedback to Apple with your suggestions: Product Feedback - Apple

Best regards.
