iTunes for Windows turns equalizer off and resets media location every time it shuts down

The title says it all. Every time I close the running iTunes, it resets the equalizer to "off" and it resets the music library/media location to the iTunes folder on the C: drive. I want the music media setting to point to the F: drive (which is a mapped network drive). I've opened the software using shift and chosen the present library, and I've repeatedly put the correct music media location (F: drive) into the settings repeatedly. Every time the program closes it loses these settings and turns off the equalizer. Is there some way to get these settings to stick?

I cannot help with the equalizer setting.

There appears to be a bug that prevents the media folder preference being correctly saved for some users. One option is to see Make a split library portable - Apple Community and put your library in a shape that isn't affected by the issue and is easier to backup and move around in future. This might not work so well with a network location however. I'd generally go with an external drive, and network for backup. An alternative approach would be to install iTunes 12.6.5.3 temporarily, connecting it a new temporary library, assign the correct media folder which should stick, then reinstall the current version of iTunes and reconnect to your proper library.
