Waiting 30 Days to Delete Photos?

On MacBook Pro 2021 with M1, Big Sur v. 11.6.4: I needed to free up iCloud storage space so I backed up all my photos to an external hard drive. I thought I deleted all the photos. Then I saw that they are going to be deleted in 30 days? I am afraid I'm getting very confused.

How do I delete all my photos now? I also have an iPad & an iPhone that had those photos in iCloud. I turned off sync.

Thank you.

When you delete a photo they go to Recently Deleted. If you want to delete them from there before the 30 days is up, you can do that. Go to the Photos app and click Recently Deleted in the Photos sidebar on the Mac.
