I'm trying to find a way to not see messages from a specific contact on my iPhone, but continue to get them on my Macbook when it connects to wifi. Anytime I remove a blocked contact from my Mac, it unblocks on my phone too.
Is there a way to UNSYNC blocked contacts whilst keeping the same Apple ID between my Mac and iPhone?

We understand that you're wanting to know if it's possible to block a contact on one device, but not the other. When you block a contact, they are blocked on all devices that are signed in with that Apple ID and linked to the phone number. If it's a non-iPhone user, that would be SMS and goes through your carrier: What is the difference between iMessage and SMS/MMS?
So there isn't a way to block on one device and not the other. Just in case, here's more information on blocking contacts and what happens when you do: Block phone numbers, contacts, and emails on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
