How can I fix my volume on my apple tv to constantly start when selecting a program?

It is possible that your TV doesn’t like the audio format being sent by your Apple TV. Have you tried changing the audio output format of your Apple TV? On your Apple TV, go to Settings…Video and Audio, change the Audio Format to either Dolby Digital 5.1 or Stereo.

You are up to date on TVOS?
These are the speakers in the TV and you are using HDMI CEC to control volume?
—Try a different HDMI port on your TV (not every HDMI port may be the same).
—Check HDMI settings in the TV, specifically CEC (may be called something else).
—Try a different HDMI cable
—Make sure your TV’s OS is up to date
is this happening on a certain app only? Try multiple scenarios with other apps. If it’s a particular app, this may need to be an app maker fix.

If you shared details about your system components and how they’re connected, we may have some more suggestions about what might be going on. Inconsistent behavior may be as simple as the infrared beam from the remote to the TV being obstructed depending on where you are while pressing the buttons.

I tried all of this suggestions and it didn’t change anything. Sometimes volume comes on sometimes it doesn’t still. It’s on multiple apps.

Your suggestion is the winner. I read on another forum that changing the audio output worked. I switched it from auto to Dolby. Haven’t had a problem since. Thanks.
My apple tv volume doesn't constantly doesn't turn on when I select a program to watch. I have to go back and reselect sometime multiple times before volume comes on. HELP!
