Ever-since I upgraded to MacOS Monterey my Mail, Version 15.0 (3693.60.0.1.1), is an absolute disaster. Slow, search function not working, automatically scroll up-down -loosing place in mailbox or search strings etc - is it me or iOS?!?

This sounds a bit obscure but when I had search problem in Big Sur I found that going to Mail Preferences, General and unchecking "Prefer opening messages in Split View when in full screen" solved the search problem.
Now what do you know!?! Worked immediatelly, thank you!
I hope Apple Mac takes note of these badly structured coding issues!
