Dropped airpod pro and case in toilet

My AirPod (3rd gen) case and one of the air pods fell into a clean toilet. I got them out, dried them and would like to know how to clean them thoroughly. Although it was a clean toilet, it was still a toilet so hoping some sort of disinfectant is possible.

Hello Uhoh456,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities!

If we understand your post correctly, your AirPods were exposed to some water and you want to know how to go about cleaning them. We'd like to help!

The article you came from, About the sweat and water resistance of AirPods Pro and AirPods (3rd generation), has the information you need on what steps to do when they are exposed to liquid.

"If your AirPods Pro or AirPods (3rd generation) are exposed to liquid through any of the scenarios above:

  • Wipe them clean with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth.
  • Allow them to completely dry before using them or placing them in the charging case.

Don't expose AirPods Pro or AirPods (3rd generation) to soaps, shampoos, conditioners, lotions, perfumes, solvents, detergent, acids or acidic foods, insect repellent, sunscreen, oil, or hair dye. All of these can negatively affect water seals and acoustic membranes. If your AirPods Pro or AirPods (3rd generation) are exposed to any of these:

  • Wipe them clean with a cloth slightly dampened with fresh water and dry with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth.
  • Allow them to completely dry before using them or placing them in the charging case."
