my sister is buying me an iphone in the US but ill be using it here in the Philippines.

Is the Any Carrier option similar to a factory unlock type of phone that makes it functional here in the PH?

You will probably have to return to the US for warranty service as well. This Apple document:

I strongly recommend you buy from Apple in the Philippines or a carrier there to avoid the issue you raised and the rather serious problem of warranty service.

iPhones are made for the use in the country where these devices are benign sold,, due to the built in hardware.

Some services like LTE or 5G might not be supported in another country, if you switch to another carrier.
