PDF crashes on markup

I own an iPad 9th Gen. I have been facing an issue while I markup on the PDFs in Files. The PDF refreshes itself as soon as I draw anything on it. Sometimes I am not even able to close it because it is in a constant loop of refreshing itself. My files are in iCloud but I tried moving them into the internal storage and annotating but the issue still persists. Also this is happening only with a few of the PDFs.

It would be really great if someone could help me out.

Thanks

iPad, iPadOS 15

Hi _AdiG_,

Welcome to the Apple Community.

Apple support have articles online that may help

Eg: Try opening .pdf files in the Books app (instead of Files) before using mark-up

or

Try marking up / annotating a screenshot of the .pdf.

MarkUp or Read PDF documents in Books on iPad – Apple Support

Draw in apps with Markup on iPad – Apple Support

Add typed text, shapes, and signatures with Markup on iPad – Apple Support

All the best :-)
