My MacBook keeps crashing after unplugging and replugging the docking station.

Hi,

I have a MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2020, Four Thunderbolt 3 ports) with macOS Monterey (version 12.2.1 (21D62)) running on it. I connect it to a Lenovo ThinkPad thunderbolt dock for my daily work. Since I need to switch computers multiple times a day, I unplug and replug the docking station from time to time.

Since the last update, my Mac crashes whenever I replug the docking station. It also won't connect any USB devices connected to the docking station. After rebooting the Mac, I can connect the docking station and attached USB devices again.

Any thoughts or suggestions to solve the issue?

Thank you

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 12.2

Which specific process are you describing as "crashing"? What behavior are you seeing?

Are you receiving an error? If so, what is the exact wording of that error?

Cheers.

I have the same issue: MacBook Pro 13" 2020 used in combination with a Thunderbolt 3 docking station. Everything worked fine all the time, but since the upgrade to macOS 12.2.1 macOS crashes when I unplug the docking station.

Always the same pattern: unplug, wait a few seconds, then the fans spin up heavily for a second or so, then it crashes.
