Getting ridiculous hot while wirelessly charging

My iPhone 13 is always over heating when I’m wirelessly charging it. I use nothing but apple charger products and I charge it without a phone case on. I leave it on my nightstand and my car wireless mount both get so hot I’m surprised it hasn’t burned my hand or my wooden nightstand. My husband iPhone 13 pro doesn’t have this problem at all and we use the exact same charging products except he can charge his with his case on but never has an overheating problem. Is it just me or is this common issue with the new iPhones?
