Blocked emails staying in inbox

Why do blocked emails keep showing up in my inbox after I block the addresses and after I set them in my settings to send to trash?

Hello 1975KS,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. Thanks for reaching out to us with this issue you're having with your blocked emails coming to your inbox. You can adjust the settings for what happens to the incoming email after you've blocked it. Go to Settings > Mail. Under the Threading section tap on Blocked Sender Options. From there you are presented with options:

  • Mark as Blocked, Leave in Inbox: This will allow the blocked mail to come to your inbox, but you will not receive a notification for it.
  • Move to Trash: Sends the blocked email to the Trash folder. You can empty the trash manually, or choose to have the trash empty automatically in your account settings.

Let us know if this helps you, or if you have any questions.

Take care.

I had already assigned the blocked emails to go to Trash. I turned my mail account on/off to reset afterwards. It doesn’t work. I fixed it by going into my yahoo mail on desktop & using the block/delete tools provided by Yahoo. Now I do not see the blocked emails in my inbox. The iPhone block tools do not work.
