Delete iCloud email address?

I have an AppleID that is associated with a email address that is not an iCloud email address. It is an email with a personal domain. For the sake of this conversation, the AppleID is name@mydomain.com. If I create an iCloud email (e.g., name@icloud.com) that is part of this same AppleID account, but I don't change the AppleID from original ID (i.e., name@mydomain.com), can I later delete the iCloud email (e.g., name@icloud.com) without having to delete my entire AppleID (i.e,. name@icloud.com)?

You can't change/remove @iCloud.com, @me.com or @mac.com addresses unless it is an alias you created after the Apple ID was set up..

iCloud: About your @icloud.com, @me.com, and @mac.com email addresses.   *

I'm not challenge your answer... but that is really a counter intuitive way to create this. My AppleID is myname@mydomain.com, not myname@icloud.com (which is created after I created the AppleID associated with my personal domain).

To draw a parallel... it's as if I buy a domain (e.g., www.mydomain.com) from GoDaddy. And all I have for a year or so is the domain with no email associated with it. And then one day, I decide to add an email address associated with it called myname@mydomain.com. Using Apple's logic here: if I then later wanted to get rid of the email associated with that domain, I could not. I would have to delete the domain too. That is just illogical.
