A Numbers chart gets the values for a legend from the Header Column of the data table on which the chart is based.

Here is an example from the 'Charting Basics' template at File > New in your menu.

How to hide chart series in legend? I have a 2D 2-Axis chart in Numbers (version 12.0) showing several different data series. I have added data labels to a couple series ("Started beta blocker" and "Stopped beta blocker") and don't want these series to show up in the legend, as it's a bit redundant. Is there any way to remove these data series from the legend while keeping them in the chart?
