iPhone 13 pro max fast charging

I was told that the standard 5 watt charger that I used to use on my iPhone XS Max can harm the life of my iPhone 13 Pro Max battery and that I should ONLY use a fast charger on my iPhone 13 Pro Max. Is that true?

No you can safely use any charger from 5 watts upwards (no upper limit)

You will only get fast charging from 20Watts upward with the USB-C cable that came with the phone.

If anything slow charging causes less heating which is better for the battery.

There's really nothing wrong with using any power supply regardless of the power output. The only thing would be that you should used a quality one, as some poor quality ones can't properly control the voltage (i.e. spikes or poor regulation) but the only thing that matters to an iPhone is that the output voltage is stable. If a power supply can't provide the maximum current that it can handle, it should have no problem with just using whatever it can.
