Free subscription with eligible airpods problem

Hello all,

I activated my trial period of apple music to test the service. In the mean time I purchased a pair of airpods pro (just two days ago) and still cannot see in apple music my free 6 month sub. Will it activate after the trail period? Have I lost it because I purchased these after I activated the trail?

By the way I have done the steps described here https://offers.applemusic.apple/six-month-offer#redeem but still cannot see anything changing.
