Unable to Login After Update

Recently updated my MacBook Air (with M1 chip) from macOS 12.1 to macOS 12.2.1 and I am no longer able to login. It appears to load normally, gets to the login screen with the user profiles. I am able to input passwords and the password appears to be accepted. Then it goes to a black screen for about 4 to 5 seconds and then back to the login screen. Same issue if I try to sign into the admin account as well. I have tried to open it in safe mode as well. Still the same result. Any ideas?

Boot into the Recovery volume (How to Boot an M1 Mac into Recovery Mode) and reinstall the system.

It won't affect the user data if you don't erase before installing.
