Airpods Max not working when plugged in

I bought the 3.5mm to lighting cable adapter for my Airpods Max to make sure there was no audio delay when running certain applications. It worked fine for a week or so, but then suddenly my computer suddenly stopped detecting that anything was even plugged in. Bluetooth, however, works fine. I've tried factory resetting them, resetting drivers, pairing in sound settings, but nothing has worked. Could this be an issue with the cable or the headphones itself, as it does not seem to be a problem with the computer.

Thanks

Hello PizPalu,

After reviewing your post, it seems like the computer is not detecting the AirPods Max when connected by cable, but does detect it by Bluetooth. It seems like the AirPods and the Mac are working.

If you connect another set of wired headphones to the Mac, are they recognized?

If you connect the AirPods to another device with the cable, are they recognized?

Set up AirPods Max with your Mac and other Bluetooth devices

Connect and use your AirPods Max
