What is the maximum number of menubar icons that you can have in top right corner of a macbookpro display with camera bezel

Mac os randomly hides the overlflow icons on me and it is frustrating. Why doesn't apple fix this problem that they themselves created during the macbook pro silicon redesign? Its like the software and hardware divisions of the same company don't bother to work together (which seems un-apple). I shouldn't have to spend more money on an app (butler) to fix the problem of app menu icons randomly disappearing.

I Didn’t realize it’s about icon size and not about number of icons displayed. I broke down and bought bartender out of sheer frustration with the randomness of the menubar hide and seek game. It’s a good app. Apple should take note.

This is 'relative' to the breath and depth of each icon (Menulets) side by side— I see no way to throw out a number...

“…on the 16-inch notebook, you still have a 16.0 active area on the diagonal in that 16:10-inch window, and we just grew the display up from there and put the menu bar up there.”

When developers update their app for compatibility with the new Mac, the "Scale to fit below built-in camera" setting no longer appears.
