Screen keeps turning on and off

Thanks for reaching out in Apple Support Communities about your iPhone 13, we’re happy to help out with the display.

It sounds like you may be touching the area where the proximity sensor is located. This is the feature that turns off the screen when you hold the iPhone up to your ear.

Also, take a look at the Attention Aware Features. If this feature is enabled, try turning it off and see if that resolves this behavior. See Turn Attention Aware features on or off on your iPhone or iPad Pro for details.

Do you have 'tap to wake' enabled (under accessibility>touch>tap to wake? I just got an iphone 13 & turned off raise to wake yet everytime I touched my screen or it moved in my pocket, the screen would come on then off. I didn't even know there even was a 'tap to wake' feature & would have expected Apple to put something like that under the Display & Brightness menu below raise to wake vs the Accessability menu.

Menu path stated in doc in above link (turn Attention Aware Features on or off) is not correct though dtd 2/9/22. I found it under Settings> Accessability> Face ID & Attention (& not labeled Face ID & Passcode).
