"Promised Files" Folder

I have a macbook pro with Big Sur OS.

I will randomly keep receiving the folding called "Promised Files".

It has nothing in it and when I delete it, the folder comes back when I log into my computer again. I'm not a developer.

Anyone know what this is? Is there a way to get rid of it?

MacBook Pro 15″, macOS 11.6

This has nothing to do with Catalina. It is some old 3rd party app that was probably doing something wrong the whole time. It probably isn't compatible with Catalina and is now doing something unusual because some other operation has failed.

Just making sure this isn't a translation problem. Are you using an English language?

There is a "Relocated Items" folder created after an update. I don't know how "Relocated" would translate to "Promised," but can't think of what would cause what you see.
