Why am I not able to connect my sony speaker via Bluetooth

I’ve never had an iPhone before. So far my husband and I are disappointed. Anything you do on these phones, you will be charged. Can’t connect my Sony speaker via Bluetooth or auxiliary . I mean, with our old androids you could connect any Bluetooth products and most apps are free. I am so not pleased with either of our iPhone. I see NOTHING special with an iPhone period. This 11 is way too small and we’re paying allot of money for both our phones. I wanna trade for a much bigger iPhone. Thanks and have a better rest of the evening
