Macbook Pro 13inch 2020 will not reconnect to Thunderbolt USB Dock after sleep since upgrading to Monterey 12.2.1

I had this issue about a year ago with Catalina. I was able to resolve it by upgrading to Big Sur. I just upgraded to Monterey and the problem came back.

My Macbook is connected to a Pluggable TBT3-UDV powered docking station. I have 2 external HDMI monitors, several USB peripherals and an Ethernet connection. When I wake the Macbook from sleep the Monitors come back but the USB peripherals do not. If I reboot the Macbook everything works as expected until the Mac goes to sleep or I disconnect the Thunderbolt docking station and then the problem returns.

As mentioned above, I had this issue with Catalina but it was resolved with Big Sur. Upgrading to Monterey has caused it to return.

Hi citrixguy,

For issues with accessories connected to the ports on your Mac, try the steps below, followed by resetting the SMC:

Before resetting the SMC, try these steps:

Shut down your Mac.
Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds, then release the button.
Wait a few seconds, then press the power button to turn on your Mac.

If the issue persists, follow these steps to reset the SMC:

Shut down your Mac.
On your built-in keyboard, press and hold all of the following keys. Your Mac might turn on.

Control on the left side of your keyboard
Option (Alt) on the left side of your keyboard
Shift on the right side of your keyboard

Keep holding all three keys for 7 seconds, then press and hold the power button as well. If your Mac is on, it will turn off as you hold the keys.
