Can you move the photo from ‘All photos’ and just have it in the album?

Why doesn't Apple have this?

Which concepts would those be?

Things like "every photo is in the library", "albums hold pointers to the images in the Library" "Images can be in as many album as you like and use no extra disk space". That sort of stuff.

Per definition “All Photos” is the place where you will always find all photos. You can only remove photos from All Photos by deleting them from the library.

you can only remove photos from albums you create yourself. So create an album with all photos you want to distribute to other albums and remove them from your own “my all photos” after you have organized them.

Leonie, do you even own an IPhone? If you create an album and place a photo in it, and then delete it from your "All Photos" section, it deletes all pictures. Including the Album you just created.

I have several iPhones 😀 You misunderstood what I wrote. My suggestion is to recreate "All Photos" by an album of our own "My All Photos". Only from our albums can we remove photos without deleting them everywhere. We can use this to distribute the photos to other albums. From our own "My All Photos"album we can remove photos, so we will know which photos have already been files away to other albums.
