Plugged my iPhone 10 (All Updated) to my iMac an it says that "A software update is required to connect to iPhone - - What exactly is the update?

And being a Mac User I hope you have no antivirus, VPN or security software on the Mac.

Usually iTunes update or carrier update.

Hi and thank you. I started there, but because every time I tried to download that update the notification froze with the attempted download at the starting line, it didn't help me. And this has happened numerous times in the past few days, so I feel like I'm just spinning my (and my devices') wheels here.

I don't agree with line 2.

I have no knowledge of or interest in 'kudos' in this context. My criticism was of Apple's obscure dialogue boxes.

If the purpose of this forum is to assist users, it is pointless and counterproductive to multiply existing discussion threads.

I left my I pads when it required updates now is jammed and it doesn't show on the screen if I charged it keeps flipping on and of .what do I do now

This Apple-recommended response is not useful. It does not disclose what you are being told to download - for example - is it an OS update, how big is it, etc. More transparency please Apple.
