Find my iPhone

My husband recently upgraded his iPhone to an 11, but now it doesn't appear on his iPad (mini) when he uses the find my iPhone. But if you look in his iPhone both the iPad and the iPhone appear as devices. But the iPad only shows the iPad. Both are logged into the same apple account.

In addition - is there any way we can add each other's iPhones to our "find my.." apps?
