I'd like to be able to receive calls from certain people when I sleep (family, in the event of emergency) but not receive text tones from, say, the elderly sister who messages from Florida without considering it's three hours earlier here (and never will). Is there a way to have a focus that maintains ringtones but silences text tones. Thanks for any suggestions.
This is just for my phone as everything else is not in the bedroom.

Ohhh I understand! Maybe you could try adding the people, and then under the Apps choose to only have the phone app be available and not iMessage?
If that doesn’t work, then unfortunately I believe it is simply not possible, if you would like to submit feedback to Apple so this feature can be added in the future, follow the below link:

I appreciate the response and the page was helpful, but I still seem unable to allow someone in my directory who normally is able to both call and text to be on my focus without my hearing their text tones. Can I use the focus to allow someone to only call (even if they can otherwise text)?
