Why will it try to use my debit card when I have Apple gift card and it won't use that

I have a gift card balance but it won't use that what's to use my debit card why

Hi,


When you have an Apple ID balance, this payment method will always be used first.

When you want to buy something, if Apple uses your debit card, it means your Apple ID balance is insufficient, so it’ll be used, and the remaining amount to pay will be paid with your debit card.

That’s how it’s supposed to work when you have an Apple ID balance.


To make sure we’re talking about the same thing: Go in Settings > Your Apple ID > Payments and Shipping > Apple ID balance should appear in first under ‘payment methods’ section
