PDF malware possible on iPhone?

Opened a pdf received in an email and it resent a copy of itself to people contacts. Is this possible?

Can iPhones be affected by Macro Viruses? I’m a bit worried and just wanted to check about this. I was using a family members iPhone because I didn’t have mine on me at the time and I needed to work for college. I downloaded Word and went to start working but I saw a shared file that I assumed was meant to be a college worksheet as it had a title that was very similar to the course that I’m taking. Unfortunately, this was a scam document that was being displayed from the phone owners Outlook account. I immediately came off of it and deleted the email that the document was attached within so it would no longer display it. After researching it for a while I can’t really find a clear definitive explanation to whether or not Macro Viruses can infect/affect the IOS version of Word. Just for some added information, I have used a PC to download one of my own personal files from before I opened the document and one that I specifically created after and my anti-virus is saying that both seem to be fine.

What happens if I click on an email with an infected attachment? (Read desc.) Hi everyone, I know that malware can be installed by clicking on infected email attachments (files, websites, etc.), but what happens if I click on an email that has an infected attachment without actually clicking on the attachment? Do the hackers know when I clicked on their email? I don’t suspect my devices of malware or anything, I was just curious :)

No. Not without you allowing the email to be sent.
