Mail wants to sign using key 'privateKey' prompt on repeat
I can't send emails because a pop-up window says "Mail wants to sign using key 'privateKey' in your keychain." The pop-up has three options: "Always Allow" "Deny" "Allow," then requests the account password. But it rejects my account password. I have entered it carefully, manually, and triple-checked it. The prompt will not go away.
Then I received the following tip: "The key would be a certificate you have registered to your email account." This might be helpful with clarification, but what certificate exactly? Or how do I identify the certificate in question that I have registered to my email account? Or do I need to obtain this certificate (from Adobe, for example, it was an AcrobatPro pdf that sparked the problem. Adobe customer service maintains that it is an Apple Mail problem)? Or do I need to delete the certificate in question? Thanks in advance for your help.
