Hard drive full with system data every few hours

Hi! My hard drive keeps filling up with "system data" until full. When I restart my computer it clears to around 133GB free but within a few hours it's full again.

Any ideas what's causing this? I updated to Monterey from Mojave about 1/2 weeks ago but haven't been using the laptop much since so could have been linked?

I spoke to someone from Apple earlier who Rebuild the Spotlight index on your Mac - Apple Support but it's not changed anything....

Has there every been a failed or aborted Upgrade at some time with this computer. If so, there might be an Extra Macintosh HD - Data Volume or extra Macintosh HD Volume.

Open Disk Utilities >> View >> View ALL Attached Devices ( without External Drives attached "

What is showing regarding above statement.

What is “Other” storage on a Mac, and how can I clean it out?

In Monterey the “Other “ category is named “ System Storage “.

Free up storage space on your Mac

OmniDiskSweeper Safe to use

GrandPerspective

How to delete Time Machine snapshots on your Mac

See used and available storage space on your Mac

Locate backups of your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

The final word from Apple on Managing the " Other " Category

Other: Contains files that don’t fall into the categories listed here. This category primarily includes files and data used by the system, such as log files, caches, VM files, and other runtime system resources. Also included are temporary files, fonts, app support files, and plug-ins. You can't manage the contents of this category. The contents are managed by macOS, and the category varies in size depending on the current state of your Mac.

The computer used to be restarted around once a week when on Mojave, now every few hours the hard disk is full. Looks like a lot of excessive data. Some more screenshots here now it's been running for a few hours.

In terms of programs running, I usually only have Slack, Spotify, Linear, Chrome and Sketch open.

When running Daisy Disk I see this:

How often this the computer shutdown and restarted ?

The " Drive is full " maybe more an issue if Swap files being created because so many Applications are running at the same time and running out of Memory.

Swap files do occupy Space on the Computer Drive but will disappear once the computer is restarted. As evidenced by

" Clearing 133 GB upon restart "
