Trouble with HP Easy Scan after upgrade

I have an HP OfficeJet Pro 9025 all in one printer. Since upgrading to Monterey I am having to constantly shut down the printer and then restart it to get HP Easy Scan to work. It give a trouble connecting message and will not scan. Then I shut it down and restart and it scans perfectly until the next day when it does the same thing again until I shut it down and restart it. Anyone else with this problem and know of a fix?

Start by testing the issue in safe mode. This will start up your Mac so that it performs certain checks and prevents some software from automatically loading or opening, which could help narrow down the cause of issue. The steps to start in safe mode will depend on whether you have a Mac with Apple silicon or an Intel processor: How to use safe mode on your Mac.


To further isolate the behavior create another administrator account to find out if the behavior only occurs when you use the printer with one account.


Add another user with these steps:

1. On your Mac, choose Apple menu  > System Preferences, then click Users & Groups. (If the lock at the bottom left is locked, click it to unlock the preference pane).
2. Click the Add button below the list of users.
3. Click the New Account pop-up menu, then choose a type of user.
