Does the physical card need a PIN number?

Can you withdraw cash from ATM overseas?

The Apple Card does not permit cash advances at an ATM or bank. Some businesses in Europe do require a PIN, and you can use any 4 digit code/number. I generally use 1,2,3,4 when a merchant in Europe needs a PIN. It’s different in the US. Merchants requiring a PIN in the US are trying to process you transaction as a debit card. Apple Card does not permit this.

The only time I’ve had to enter a PIN in Europe was when purchasing gas or paying a toll and they are unmanned. You use your card or Apple Pay and it may ask for a PIN. I usually enter 1, 2, 3, 4 or 0000. Ive not had issues.

Also to avoid foreign transaction fees, it’s best to pay in US $ when possible.

Apple Pay is more accepted/common in Europe than US.
