How to turn off 'Share Across Devices' in Focus

I have 'Share Across Devices' turned OFF. If I turn on or off 'Do Not Disturb' on one iPhone my other iPhone syncs that setting.

I do not use Two Factor Authentication. According to the message on my iPhone, Focus Syncing is impossible without Two Factor Authentication. Nevertheless, synchronizing they are. How can I stop my iPhones from synchronizing Do Not Disturb?

Both are iPhone 12, both with iOS 15.3.1

I find it useful to have two phones. I know many people that do the same thing. I'm allowed to have more than one iPhone. Many people will get a new iPhone, and they keep the old one for various purposes. Moreover, the unwanted synchronization also takes place between my iPhone and my iPads as well. (I have more than one iPad.)

I'm still seeking an answer to this problem.

Hello,

I sure did like the simple DND from iOS 14 and earlier.

I did find "When you use Focus on one device, the setting is automatically applied across your Apple devices that are signed in with the same Apple ID." in the instructions that you linked to. But how do you "square that" with my iPhone reading "Focus syncing requires Two Factor Authentication."? You have to admit, those two statements are direct opposites. I do not use Two Factor Authentication.

It would make total sense IF I was trying to use Focus Syncing but I could not because I don't use Two Factor Authentication.
