Why does the quality in my pictures get so low when I move them from the main photomenu to an album on the desktop?

Are you dragging photos out of the Open Photos window to a folder on the Desktop? Then you are just saving the current preview of the photo or video, which may be of a lesser quality.


When you want to save photos in a full quality, select the photos in Photos and use the command File > Export to save them. Then you can select to save the original version or a rendered version with the adjustments applied, and at the original size and quality.
