Permanently retain calendar entries

I have my iPhone 12 calendar app set to record all events. However, no events older than two years are available on my phone. I would like to retain all events for all time.

iPhone 12 Pro, iOS 15

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities.

Go to Settings > Calendars > Sync > All Events.

Thank you for your reply. With some difficulty, I can make it work on my iPhone. It works better on iCloud. However, I can’t use the search function on the iCloud calendar.
