My passwords leaked/shared from my iCloud account to another (wife's).

Hello. We have couple of devices in our family: macs, iPads, iPhones. Macs are usually shared (everyone has account), mobile devices are "inherited".

I noticed that my iCloud passwords and credit cards are visible on wife's account. Everywhere: iPad, iPhone, Mac. She has her own iCloud account and always uses it on device.

How come could the data leaked? I was wondering what happens when I give my iPhone to someone, should everything sensitive be erase when I log out of iCloud?

iPad mini, iOS 12

You're either using the same Apple ID (each user should have their own) or have retained data on the phone that is then uploaded when a new user signs in. Eg. if you sign out of iCloud and leave photos on your device, a new user signing into iCloud and syncing photos will have all of your photos. Ideally, follow the guide below:

Thank you, but I know the drill. Whenever I mention "account" in the question I mean each of us has our own Apple ID.

I believe that it is reasonable to expect that once you sign out the Apple ID, and sign in with a new one, the sensitive data is erased. I know that you can leave contacts or photos, but this is a completely different thing. I tried manually deleting all keychain items and we'll see if the "leak" was a single incident.
