My MacBook Pro will not open most hotel or public WiFi login pages.

This issue has been going on for quite some time. I have googled it and try everything I can seem to find. Seems to be an issue others have had to, but no easy resolution. I travel a lot and so this has been extremely frustrating having to use my cell phone hotspot instead of the hotel Wi-Fi. Try all the basic things more times and I can count. Please starting, turning the Wi-Fi off and on, trying to force open a login page by typing things like 1.1.1.1 in the address bar. I’d appreciate some help.

MacBook Pro (2020 and later)

Is your MacBook Pro managed by your employer? If so there's quite a few possible problems depending on how they set things up and what security endpoint software they installed.

If it's a normal retail MacBook Pro that you personally own. Do you have any security software installed? Anti-virus, firewall, etc.? LittleSnitch, Norton, etc.

You can download the free EtreCheck application, grant it Full Disk Access and run a scan then post the report in reply using the Additional Text button to attach it to your reply. It won't reveal any personal information, just technical info and a list of everything you have running. Malware and security software can impact networking and potentially block access to the Captive Portal page at hotels, inflight Wi-Fi, etc.
