Software update

Recently (Feb-Mar 2022) I've been getting nearly daily notifications for a "software update," which requires me to type in my admin password. There is nothing that identifies this software update, so I have no idea what is being updated every day. How do I find out what software is being updated, so that I can be sure that it's not malicious software?

Open the App Store and go to Updates. There you will see what apps are offering an update.

If it's OS related: System Preferences > Software Update to determine if the update is related to your OS
