How do I import iphone favorites folder (media) into FCPX easily?

I just want to quickly import my iphone 'favorites' folder of photos and videos in FCPX. FCPX cannot find my favorites folder (it just wants FCP favorites, that's not what I'm referring to). It doesn't flag/show my iphone media as favorited or not, and I can't find a way to pull up just the favorites folder (favorites from iphone, not FCPX) anywhere inside FCPX. There has to be a way to do this I'm just too daft to figure out. I've even put all the media I favorited on the drive back from Joshua Tree into a new folder, but FCPX doesn't see it.

You may have to go through the Photos application first.

This is usually not recommended - and I have never used Photos like this - but if you want access to the albums or favorites on the iPhone and see them in FCP you probably need to import into Photos first.

Thank you, Luis. Unfortunately as has been the case for years, my iMac Pro hangs indefinitely when I try that. And I really don’t want to double download all these media files (via photos and again on my FCPX library). Stunning how complicated it is to get media into FCPX from a company that is so focused on streamlined integration and sharing.

What Luis says. Once they're in your Photos library you can access them from the Photos and Audio browser.
