How to boot from CD?

That takes me back. I recall you hold down the option alt key while the iBook starts, then you get an option to continue with the disc.

External Drive:

Can use the internal drive? Find an old, compatible external drive on eBay, seeing if you can get it to work on your iBook. The option key is what works for me on my 2002 iBook. Got it at a Goodwill store, and use it for none other than troubleshooting.
