Last night the tornado alert siren went off in town, and some neighbors are reporting they got alerts in their phones. I got no alert on my phone. My Notification settings are all the same as theirs. I get Amber alerts so it works somewhat. I’m on IOS 15.1. Please tell me how I can enable this. It’s extremely worrying that we didn’t know about this warning after not hearing the exterior sirens.

If you have had issues, contact your local emergency office and/or carrier.
I contacted Verizon, and they’re telling me I need to reset my network by resetting my phone. Because maybe my network isn’t associated with the correct cell towers. Has anyone gotten similar advice, or any more helpful advice?
In theory, you should receive an alert if your phone is pinging a tower in the alert zone. But, it doesn't always seem to work.
