Safari won't let me copy pdf content when "Content Blockers" is on

Hi, is it normal, that when Safaris "Content Blocker" feature is on I cannot highlight and copy text in a pdf file opened in Safari? Of course I'm talking about a pdf file that actually has selectable text. When I turned the feature of (or after opening the file in Preview) I was able to highlight & copy text. Is there an option to enable pdf highlighting and still blocking ads and other unwanted content?

Happens on M1 MacBook Air 12.2.1, Safari Version 15.3 (17612.4.9.1.8)

After some further "research" I realised the problem isn't Safari but rather the ad-blocker (Ad Block Plus) that I'm using. If I turn the ad-blocker off on a site with a pdf, I can highlight & copy text. Maybe someone has a solution for this problem as well?
