Number tones

Number tones do not work during a phone call. For example, when a call is made to a automated system the Visitor is asked to press 9 to allow access to open the gate or door. When pressing 9, instead of hearing the distinctive tone that 9 makes, it just makes a quick beep. Therefore no access is allowed.

Contact your carrier about this. The tones that you are referring to are called DTMF dial tones (Dial Tone Multi-Frequency). These tones are transmitted by your carrier when you generate them on your iPhone. Contact your carrier and ensure that your cellular account has been set correctly.
