Airplane mode instead of do not disturb

I was horrified and embarrassed when my phone rang in a meeting. So I’ll never trust that setting again. Any drawbacks to airplane mode instead?

You know there is a switch on the side of the phone that will mute the ringer, right?

Airplane mode won't turn off incoming messages, it only shuts off the transmitter. Just shut your phone off if you want complete silence.
