I have an iPad Air version 3 and I have consistent issues with my iPad not waking when I press the home button. I have to either do a hard reset and sometimes that doesn't work so I just have to wait a half hour or so and then it will work fine. Generally have to enter my passcode as if it did finally reset. Any way to fix this?

Reading the troubleshooting steps you already performed, it might be something hardware related, but we, just users like you, cannot diagnose that issue remotely, sorry.
I suggest that you make an appointment (*) and have your device inspected at an Apple Store or AASP (Apple Authorized Service Provider) among this list:--> Apple – Location Selector. After checking it out, they'll give you all the available options.
