Change Scroll Direction in Monterey 12.2.1

I recently wiped my Mac clean and downloaded Monterey version 12.2.1. I am one of those weirdos who wants the scroll direction to be the "unnatural" way (I think it's natural but that's a story for another post).

I have always been able to find the "change scroll direction" easily in system preferences under accessibility or mouse/trackpad controls, but with this version, I can't find it ANYWHERE???? Can someone please tell me if it is possible to change the scroll direction in Monterey? I'm driving myself crazy trying to change it back to how I like it. Or... is there a third party app that will allow me to do this? Please help, thanks :)

Wait, since this is a 2015 mac: did you do the usual reset the NVRAM and SMC?

We probably should have started there, given the weirdness of not acknowledging the trackpad.

To reset NVRAM, start your while pressing and HOLDING the four keys: Command, Option, P and R. Keep holding until you hear the chime some 4 times, then release the keys.

That's weird. I take it that the trackpad is actually working, right?

Try restarting in Safe Mode. Any difference?

Did you migrate anything after the install?

Please run Etrecheck and post its full report here.

Use the "additional text" button and paste the report into the text box.

By the way, I like the "unnatural" scroll too, and that is also one of the first things I change when setting up a mac.

Glad to have a fellow "unnatural" scroller here. Is etrecheck.com where I need to go? I have never done that before. I will try restarting in safe mode. Thank you for your help!

Yes. Etrecheck is a diagnostic utility by a respected member of this community. It is used here dozens of times a day. It provides those trying to assist you with information that often leads to the solution of problems.
